about Brielle

I am the mother of two beautiful children born in 2002 and 2006. After the birth of my first child, I knew birth was my calling. I rained and worked as a doula for over 7 years before becoming a Certified Professional Midwife and Texas Licensed Midwife.

In addition to training with some of Austin's most experienced midwives, I have received additional training in birth support and midwifery from ALACE, the Farm Midwifery Center in Summertown, TN, and Casa de Nacimiento in El Paso, TX. I am also certified in Adult and Infant CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation.

My goal as a midwife is to empower and support women in their childbirth decisions. Throughout your prenatal care I will provide you with clinical and educational information to help you make the decisions for you and your baby.

When I decided that for my third child I would have a home birth, I knew right away that Brielle would be the midwife for me. She has been highly trained by some of the best midwives in the country, she’s compassionate, she’s honest, and I believe that she was put on this earth to serve women and their families and through midwifery she has found her calling. During my pregnancy, Brielle immediately put me in control of my health, my baby’s health and ultimately my entire pregnancy and birth experience, but I always felt her gentle presence, guidance and support. Brielle had a very unique way of letting me know she’s there without forcing herself and her opinion on me. It is clear that she is humbled by the art of midwifery.

During my labor and delivery, I definitely had some unexpected twists and turns, but Brielle kept me focused and most importantly was able to calm me down and help me relax my body so I could meet my baby as quickly as possible. Her skills, talent, and intuition made my baby girls water birth a beautiful and calm experience for my baby, my partner and for me. Without Brielle I believe that I would have had a very different outcome and because of that I will be forever grateful and honored to have had her at my third child’s birth. - K

My birth experience with my new daughter, would not have been as lovely and healing as it was without Brielle's patience and expertise, and my better half would not have been anywhere near as peaceful and PRESENT for me were it not for her calming influence. Even with the complications of premature birth (34 weeks) and all my residual trauma and anxieties from my first daughter's awful, awful cesarean, Brielle was able to help me focus my positive energy, rationally access my choices in terms of hospital procedures and offer me genuine and effective motivation towards my goal of a successful VBAC. Additionally, her postpartum support was exactly what i needed as I waded through the confusion and frustration of having a child in the NICU. -K
